Cyculus Partners with GSMA to Enhance Security and Authenticity in Mobile Device Processing

As part of our commitment to providing secure and transparent mobile device processing, Cyculus is proud to announce a new partnership with the GSMA. This agreement allows us to integrate the GSMA Device Check service into our offerings, an innovative step forward as we work to ensure that every device processed through Cyculus meets the highest standards for security, authenticity, and reliability.

Cyculus Partners with GSMA

The GSMA Device Check Service offers access to a global database of flagged device IMEIs. This database is maintained by over 130 mobile operators and other trusted organisations worldwide. Through this service, Cyculus can now offer our customers an optional check that identifies flagged devices, including those reported as lost, stolen, fraudulent or subject to an ownership or financial claim. Our customers can feel confident knowing that flagged or illegitimate devices are filtered out of their processing streams, helping prevent the circulation of these handsets across borders.

Benefits of the GSMA Device Check Service

This integration marks an important step in Cyculus’ journey to provide a secure, reliable, and transparent device processing solution. The benefits to our customers are threefold:

  • Preventing Fraud and Theft: With the ability to check against a global database, Cyculus can quickly identify devices reported as lost, stolen, or associated with fraudulent activity. This ensures that our customers can avoid inadvertently handling or selling stolen goods.
  • Verifying Ownership and Financial Claims: The GSMA Device Check Service also reveals any outstanding financial or ownership claims on a device, such as unpaid bills or active lease agreements. This added layer of information protects our customers from potential legal and financial complications.
  • Ensuring Device Authenticity: Accessing a device’s history through the GSMA Device Check allows Cyculus to verify its authenticity, confirm its true value, and provide our customers with reliable information for accurate pricing and resale.

A Message from Cyculus CEO Fergal Donovan

As Cyculus embarks on this journey in mobile device processing, we see this partnership as a crucial step forward. Fergal Donovan, CEO of Cyculus, shares his thoughts on what this agreement means for the company and its customers:

“This partnership with GSMA is a tremendous step for Cyculus as we begin our journey. With the GSMA Device Check Service, we’re able to offer our customers a new level of security and integrity in device processing. They can be assured that the devices they handle are authentic, free from ownership claims, and accurately valued. This partnership is a strong alignment with our vision of secure, responsible, and transparent mobile processing from the very start.”

At Cyculus, we believe that security, trust, and authenticity are key pillars for sustainable growth in the mobile device industry. With this partnership, we’re not only enhancing our service but also empowering our customers with the assurance and transparency they deserve.
